![]() The development and implementation of a clean energy future for Queensland depends on informed decision making from all sectors of our community: politicians, industry, commerce and consumers. QSEIDG’s main ‘energy futures’ focus lies with seeking out opportunities to enhance the knowledge of the decision makers in each of these sectors. It does this through a variety of means: Policy submissions and representations QSEIDG keeps abreast of federal and state government policy issues and prepares and submits responses to a range of energy and climate change policies and discussion papers. It also provides advice to third parties on energy related issues for inclusion in their submissions and representations and/or for internal or public policy formation. Our 2007 submissions relating to Queensland's energy policy, climate change adaptation and renewable energy resource potential can be downloaded here. Industry/member forums, updates and events
QSEIDG endeavours to keep its members fully conversant with world’s best practice on sustainable energy and energy efficiency technologies, policies, projects and publications. It also organises industry relevant events as the need arises. Select events to find what is on offer or contact us for information about membership and access to ‘members only’ publications and documents. ![]() Participation in national and international networks QSEIDG works closely with the Clean Energy Council (formerly the Business Council for Sustainable Energy - BCSE) and the Australian and New Zealand Solar Energy Society (ANZSES), is a member of the Renewable Energy Action Agenda Group (REAAG) and is actively involved with the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and the International Association of Sustainable Energy Educators (IASEE). Resource Mapping/product validation QSEIDG has initiated several projects to ensure Queensland’s sustainable energy resources are appropriately mapped and their contribution to our energy services is correctly calculated and validated. In 2004 QSEIDG prepared a report correcting previous published performance figures for solar water heaters in Brisbane. The performance figures in this report have since been accepted by the Queensland government in developing their Sustainable Housing options. This report can be downloaded here. Modeling of Solar Fraction of Domestic SHWS In 2005 QSEIDG commercialised a Queensland Wind Resource Map, showing, through gis data, areas of Queensland that are suitable for large scale wind farm development as well as the installation of smaller-scale wind turbines.
